The Tidal Basin is completely free to visit — no entrance fees for any of the memorials or the grounds. The loop is walkable with no paid attractions along the route.
If you’d like to rent a pedal boat from Adventures Unbound at the Tidal Basin, rates vary by season.
There are no restaurants along the Basin itself, but food trucks are often parked near the National Mall nearby.
Budget for parking if driving, or take the Metro to the Smithsonian station for a free and convenient alternative.
Pro Tip: Sunrise is the best time to visit — beautiful lighting, cooler temperatures, and far fewer crowds.
