We loved using this for our drives around the big island! Tons of good factoids and stories to fill the time while you drive for hours while exploring this amazing place. The only reason we did not give 5 stars are: 1. We really needed the speed limits posted in the app like google maps does. There are so many changes that happen quickly if you are trying to switch between the 2 it gets overwhelming and conflicting directions got us mixed up a few times. 2. The music is much louder than the narration so we had to adjust our volume back and forth a lot. If it was a bit quieter setting that the talking that would have been perfect. 3. Sometimes the directions would be exactly at the point where you were supposed to turn so we missed at least 5 where we had to do a turn around and go back. And then sometimes the directions would be very far out so we would slow down way too early. The map was very helpful but if we lost service it wouldn’t always put us in the right location for the narrator to be correct. Other than those things we greatly enjoyed our Shaka guide and are excited to try it on another island!!

You can turn off the background music but they still put songs in the audio. I want my own music with occasional helpful interjections. Otherwise, great app. Some of the routes of the same location skip spots. Be advised.

Was the perfect thing for us. Guided us along without pressure to stop at all the stops. No forced endorsement or sponsored stops from what we could tell.

I got the app for my dead valley trip and it made all the difference. I fully recommend it. My kid ask for it every time he was getting into the car. Felt kind of sad when we said good by to Shaka :). Buenísima ésta app. Se las recomiendo 100%, hace el paseo mucho más interesante, tiene historias simpaticas, buena música y excelente guía. Yo la usé para el Dead Valley en Califonia. Mi hijo me repitió varias veces que teniamos que darle cinco estrellas a la app, por eso estoy aquí haciendolo.

I’m sorry I just found this app after visiting 20 national parks. I’ll never visit another one without it. The app worked flawlessly and added SO much to our experience.

We didn’t have a lot of time to research the road to Hāna but with the audio tour it was no problem. We knew exactly where to stop, even great places to grab breakfast smoothie snacks, lunch. We took it all the way till the national park. We really enjoyed the .5 hike to the falls. We started the tour at 8 am and we hit black sand beach at 3 pm it worked out well for our reservation. I will definitely use this again for another drive. It was great about road information and being offline worked great with no signal.

Excellent guide, very informative and fun. Stories were historical and interesting to listen to. Road guidance is good but if your a fast driver easy to miss a turn.
