West Maui is home to a picturesque coastline, popular resort towns, and renowned snorkel spots. Drive around the West Maui mountain range in a loop! Check out ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs, a Dragon tooth hiking trail, and the popular Nakalele Blowhole. It will blow your mind! Of course, there are tons of beaches and viewpoints all along the way.

Please Note: The entire road on this tour is paved; however, past the blowhole, there are some narrow, one-way sections of the road that require extra caution. Ask your rental car company to ensure this is allowed and will not void your insurance.

This tour has three starting points, Kahului near the airport, Kaanapali, and Kapalua, and travels clockwise along the Western coast of Maui in a loop, ending near where you began. What should I budget for the West Maui Coastline tour?

Can I join the West Maui Coastline tour along the route?
Yes! Feel free to join the tour along the route. Just make sure that you follow the numbers in chronological order from where you are starting from.  If you don’t begin at one of the tour starting points you’ll miss a few stories, but you’ll still have a great experience. 
Can I take the West Maui Coastline tour in the opposite direction?
No, this tour can only be done clockwise around the island ending in Waikapu
Can I swim at the beaches on this tour?
Yes, but it depends when you’re traveling. In the summer, the waves are generally calmer and safe for swimming. However, in the winter (October through March) waves can be extremely rough and we recommend you avoid swimming during this time. Always use your best judgement and please note there is only one beach with lifeguards on this tour and that’s at DT Fleming Beach.
Do I need advance reservations to visit Iao Valley?
Yes! Advance reservations are required to visit Iao Valley. You can make a reservation here. Entrance to Iao Valley is $5 per person and $10 per car. Iao Valley State Monument is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
