A sunset atop Haleakala — known as house of the sun in Hawaiian — is pure magic. You’ll be walking on sunshine, that is of course until the stars come out. Then, weather permitting, you’ll behold some of the best stargazing in the world. You'll be so close to the ...
Show MoreWe used this in Maui twice and loved it so, when we saw it was an option in Boston for the Freedom Trail we opted for it and it worked great. Allowed us to go at our own pace and was very informative and intuitive.
Monchamezcla | 12 hours ago | iOSWe used this on the road to Hana in Maui and it was phenomenal. Couldn’t recommend more
Jon8O5 | 12 hours ago | iOSWould not have made it through the road to hana without Uncle Shaka! Loved the stories, the songs, the stops and even the little tips!! I wish I could hear uncle shaka talk to me all the time!
RexBoss121 | 12 hours ago | iOSThe Shaka Guide Maui came recommended by someone at our hotel. I bought the full package for Maui, but we only got to do the Road to Hana (a full day), and Haleakala at Sunset (we did it in 5 hours). Both tours were excellent and enjoyed by kids and adults alike. The app worked flawlessly and used GPS to explain highlights on our trip. In between landmarks, the music was great. On the way back, the history of Maui was interesting and the quality of the story-telling top notch. I highly recommend Shaka Guide Maui!
Pinot'nBrie | 12 hours ago | iOSHonestly, we would’ve been lost on the road to Hana without the Shaka Guide app. We actually listened to the audio during the trip home and learned a ton about Hawaii. This is a must download app if you’re thinking about doing the road to Hana, or any other trip for that matter.
YoungATX | 3 days ago | iOSWe’ve used the Shaka Guide for Maui Road to Hana, and the Rocky Mountain National Park, and they never disappoint. Now that we’ve done the Yellowstone National Park tour and Grand Teton with our family of four, we’re even more impressed. What we love most are the stories—they’re engaging, informative, and keep everyone interested (including the kids). The directions are excellent: clear, timely, and practical. We especially appreciated the guidance for every stop plus the helpful tips on bathrooms. It made navigating the park so much easier and less stressful. Highly recommend for families exploring Yellowstone (or any of their other tours). We’ll keep using Shaka Guide on future trips!
Vetflows | 3 days ago | iOSI just used this App today on the road to Hana and it was so good. Everything about it was pleasant. The information, the music, the history lessons. It was well worth the money.
The hot dawgs | 3 days ago | iOSGreat information and directions!
KatRyaH | 1 week ago | iOSWe have visited and toured Maui many times. We used the Shaka Guide for the first time and it added tremendous value and entertainment to our trips to Hana and the Haleakala national park. It’s worth every dollar.
BradR$ | 1 week ago | iOSWe used the Shaka app for the first time last week to drive up to Haleakala. Well worth it ! We have driven the route in previous years without any narration and this trip was far more enjoyable and informative !! Highly recommend it.We will definitely use Shaka app again when visiting Maui or any other Hawaiian island. Carol and Skip
Carol Jamieson | 1 week ago | AndroidNo, reservations are not required for sunset at Haleakala. If you’re unable to get sunrise reservations no worries! Just download our sunset tour and stay to watch the sun go down!

Dress warmly in layers for the Haleakala sunset. Temperatures drop significantly in the park, especially at high altitudes. We recommend you bring a jacket, hat, gloves, and blankets. You’ll also want to bring water and snacks.
