Most Road to Hana tours start in Paia, but our Reverse Road to Hana Tour begins in Kula on the opposite side of the island. There are some serious advantages to this.

Mainly, you’ll beat the crowds at some of the Road to Hana's most popular spots, like Oheo Pools and Hana Town. Not only that, you’ll visit the rarely explored backside of the Road to Hana.

Here are just a few of the fun things you can do on the tour!

• Explore the back road to Hana
• Beat the crowds to Oheo Gulch (Seven Sacred Falls) & the Pipiwai Trail
• Visit Hana Town
• Explore Wai'anapanapa State Park to visit a Black Sand Beach (advance reservation required)
• Visit loads of scenic waterfalls

Absolute Must!

We were told by locals that this app was a must- provides wonderful directions, stop recommendations and historical background along your trip. Shaka guide is a must to get the full experience of the road to Hana

Great guide, very informative!

Very helpful for our Road to Hana trip. Second time using the guide. I would suggest adding Aunty Sandy’s banana bread to the Road to Hana guide, it is a must do and guidance to the location and background of the business would be so helpful.

Fantastic App

This was our first time driving the Road to Hana and this app made the trip a breeze. I would give this app 10 stars if I could

ROAD TO HANA This is a must!

I’m not sure what we would have done without this app. It was perfectly synchronized to our trip and told us exactly where to turn to see the tourist sites as we moved along the path. The narrator is great! He has great stories and info about the road to Hana and history about Maui. My son found him a little corny - fair- but well worth the $25 download. It kept us all engaged and looking for the beauty spots! There are many! Would use this app every single time! Well-done!

Amazing!

We have used this in Hawaii for the Road to Hana and now Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. It makes the rides so informative, fun and navigates perfectly.

Amazing Day thanks to Shaka Guide!

A day we’ll never forget thanks to Shaka Guide’s Road to Hana loop guide! We almost turned around in Hana, but we were enjoying the tour so much we pressed on! So glad we did, there’s so much beauty beyond Hana. The scenery, narration, the history & the music all made for the perfect day!

Amazing, really.

Really felt like you had a tour guide right with you, the Road to Hana is not the most relaxing trip, but with this app and what the Shaka team produced, it really did help make the 10 plus hour day fly by.

Yes, however, the Road to Hana is a one-lane highway with twists and turns. For this reason, we recommend you start this tour early to avoid night-time driving as much as possible. One pro to this tour — you’ll arrive to some of the most popular stops before anyone else and you’re traveling in the opposite direction. This means you’ll save time sitting in traffic. Check out our suggested itinerary to learn more about planning your day to avoid driving at night.
How is Shaka Guide Different from Other Navigation Apps?
Shaka Guide isn’t just about getting from point A to point B — it’s like having a tour guide in your car, sharing stories and local insights as you drive. Unlike other navigation apps, we’ve planned the route for you, so instead of focusing on directions, you can focus on the experience. This means you can’t customize the route, but that’s kind of the point. You’re still in control though, you can skip stops, go at your own pace, and explore freely. It’s not just about getting there; it’s about enjoying the journey.
