Exceptional Tour Service

We used the Shaka app as our guide on the road to Hana tour in Maui. Best decision we made. Shaka made the journey soo easy with the tips and tricks. We had no service through the majority of the drive and it still worked great. We will definitely be looking for Shaka guides everywhere we go after this.

Great App!!!

We used the app to do the Road to Hana and the Haleakala sunset drive and it was amazing. The narration is a great mic of humor, information and recommendations depending on your time and situation. Highly recommend it if you like an ‘on your own’ experiences!

Amazing!

Absolutely loved this app while driving the Road to Hana. It was suggested to me by locals in Maui. Not only did it help keep us on track but we learned so much about the land, culture, and beauty of Maui along the way. It was like a personal tour guide in our car. The music was awesome, too. The tracking was always spot on so we never missed our destinations. I also liked that there was information provided on timing for reservations and which locations were a must vs. skip if you don’t have time in the schedule. A must download for your trip. Mahalo!

The Classic Road to Hana Tour on the Shaka Guide app was fantastic! The descriptions, stories, Hawaiian history, and local legends made the drive so much more enjoyable. The real-time GPS directions were incredibly accurate and worked perfectly even with little to no cell reception. It felt like having a local guide with us the entire way. Highly recommend for anyone driving the Road to Hana!

The best!

My 10-year-old and I completed the Road to Hana (full circle) using the audio tour, which ended up being an 11–hour day driving to and from the west side of the island. We loved every part of the audio tour, and really enjoyed the stories and history. Our favorite audio part was after Koke beach where we got to hear about the islands history. Highly recommend for families!

Saved my marriage

This made the road to Hana incredibly easy. This would’ve been very difficult to do without the Shaka Guide GPS guidance. My husband and I joked all day long that it was the best $25 to spend. Otherwise we would’ve been stressed about where we needed to go, and which stops to skip, resulting in fights. Shaka is cheaper than marriage counseling or divorce.

A Must for “The Road to Hana”

I felt pretty well planned and prepared for the Road to Hana, knew what stops and where, where food and bathroom stops were, etc. but we found this app 2 days before our drive, and the app made me realize just how underprepared I was. It’s soooo helpful: advance warnings about turns, food, restrooms, what is a must see and what may be skippable. Our family loved it. Especially the history lessons on the drive back. My Road to Hana trip truly felt like someone else took over all the planning and directions, leaving me to relax and enjoy. Now having experienced it, I would have gladly paid $50-100 for it! My only recommendation for an edit is smoother audio transitions between songs, historical commentary and directions. Other than that, you all did incredible work with this. Thank you for making our trip amazing!

Shaka Guide isn’t just about getting from point A to point B — it’s like having a tour guide in your car, sharing stories and local insights as you drive. Unlike other navigation apps, we’ve planned the route for you, so instead of focusing on directions, you can focus on the experience. This means you can’t customize the route, but that’s kind of the point. You’re still in control though, you can skip stops, go at your own pace, and explore freely. It’s not just about getting there; it’s about enjoying the journey.
