10/10 - a must for Maui!

This app was so great for traveling around Maui! The background music set a nice vibe for the drives and all the narration was an informative mix of Hawaiian history and mythology. We couldn’t have done the road to Hana without it. It was fun for Haleakalā too!

Absolutely the Best

We did the Classic Road to Hana and lived every minute, the driving navigation synced with Apple CarPlay in our rental which made the driving easy. The stories along the route were perfect and the food stops helpful. We also really appreciated the periodic “time checks” - they helped a ton (our goal was the Pipiwai Trail and you kept us on pace from the very beginning, we started out at 9:30 and, because of your advice, we skipped the first few stops to get to the national park before the visitors’ center closed). Literally the best day thanks to this app!!!

Really well designed and fun!

I was recommended to use this app by a friend who has traveled to Maui a lot. It was my first try at the Road to Hana, and while I only planned to go about ten miles in, we had a great time with this app. Super helpful info, impeccably timed, well produced, and I like the music intervals! Love how there is different info in each direction of the drive. I can’t wait to year the rest of the drive next time, and I would recommend this app

This was our first trip to Hawaii and we did a cruise on the Pride of America. I found and downloaded this app to use mainly for the road to Hana trip but loved it so much we ended up using it for a few other stops as well. It gives you a ton of history and info as you drive and points out places most people would miss. We are so happy we used this app. Great Job Shaka Guide. We will definetly use it again for trips in the furture. Works great even without a cell signal.

Shaka Guide isn’t just about getting from point A to point B — it’s like having a tour guide in your car, sharing stories and local insights as you drive. Unlike other navigation apps, we’ve planned the route for you, so instead of focusing on directions, you can focus on the experience. This means you can’t customize the route, but that’s kind of the point. You’re still in control though, you can skip stops, go at your own pace, and explore freely. It’s not just about getting there; it’s about enjoying the journey.
