Yes, as of 2024, vehicle reservations are required for entering the North Fork during the prime seasons. These can be booked on Recreation.gov 120 days or 24 hours in advance.
Without a vehicle reservation, visitors can enter in the early morning or late afternoon, before or after gate-check hours.
Keep in mind that the roads will close in winter.

- National Park Pass: $20 - $35
- The park does not accept cash.
- The tour stops have seasonal hours of operation. The site’s facilities and restaurants also have varying hours of operation. Check NPS site for current opening hours.
The tour is an "in and out" experience, meaning you travel in one direction and return to the starting point without looping or changing directions. Although, you can choose to go to either Bowman Lake or Kintla Lake.
If you don’t begin at one of the tour starting points you’ll miss a few stories, but you’ll still have a great experience.
