If you’re visiting Maui, do yourself a favor and get the Shaka Guide. It is extremely easy to follow and takes all the stress out of navigating. It guided us to breathtaking sights, hidden parks, and great hikes that we would have missed otherwise. I loved that it also pointed out reliable restrooms and food stops. Beyond the directions, the stories about Hawai’i and the beautiful soundtrack made the drive feel like a true experience. It truly felt like a Disney tour since the narrator was so good!!!

This trip can be overwhelming because there are so many stops, so much history, so many twists & turns, and so much to know to keep from upsetting local culture, to enjoy the scenery, food & history of the land & to get the most out of our day trip on the Road to Hana…and the Shaka Guide was the perfect companion to provide all the necessary information. We chose to do the classic route and needed to make it to the Black Sand Beach to make our reservation so we listened as we made our way through the route so we could make choices of where we wanted to stop on the way back. The music was well chosen, the narration was informative and friendly, and we’re amazed by how the narration aligned with our location at every point of the trip even when we all lost cell reception. This is a must-have for your Road to Hana trip. I wish we had the one for HaleakalĀ when we went to watch the sunset the evening prior to driving the Road to Hana.

We used Shaka Guide for the Road to Hana, and I am still absolutely bewildered by the app and how it functions! Downloading this guide was the best decision that we have made on our trip. There is truly no way we would have survived the Road to Hana without it. Our phones were in SOS Mode for 99% of the trip, so we could not use our own map/navigation, but somehow the app still knew exactly where we were and what we were passing. The guide was so spot on, it was as if he was sitting in the car with us– right down to the people illegally parking by the bamboo path and trespassing on the land– the accuracy was unbelievable. We are so grateful to Shaka Guide for getting us through those winding, and sometimes treacherous, roads while feeding us information on everything from the land to the fruit stands and best places to stop for food. 100/10. I have been raving about it to our fellow tourists, and I will continue to spread the word when I hear people are coming to Maui!

Loved this app…so helpful and the info in the stories was excellent! Super helpful to know what was coming when gps cut out. Only bought the one tour but thinking should have bought a bundle. Keep up the great work! Mahalo!

The Road to Hana tour was fabulous! Even my husband, who questioned me a little on this purchase said it was worth it. We loved the turn by turn directions, heads up on what was coming next and the history and background of the area and state of Hawaii were perfect. It was like having a tour guide in the car with us. We’ll definitely be using this app for our next trip!
