The North Shore is often said to have the best snorkeling spots, but it is only safe to do so in the summer.

Anini Beach and Tunnels Beach are some of the most incredible snorkeling spots on the island, but they are closed in the winter due to dangerous surf conditions.

Kauai’s South Shore is an excellent choice any time of year, as most of the beaches there are safe to swim in year-round.

Poipu Beach is a particularly great destination since there are plenty of tropical fish to see.

NOTE: Whenever you visit, be sure to check the surf report before venturing out and follow all beach safety warnings. A few beaches have extremely limited parking. Please be respectful to locals by not parking where there are “No Parking” signs.
