Redeem Tours From Viator and Other Travel Partners

Applies to Viator, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Booking.com, and other partner sites.

 

If you booked through Viator, TripAdvisor, Groupon, Expedia, Booking.com, or any Viator partner, your booking reference number is your redeem code.

You’ll usually find it on your voucher or ticket, often near the barcode. shakaguide.com

⚠️ One-time code: The booking reference can only be redeemed once.
Redeem it only while signed into the correct Shaka Guide account (or right after creating it), because the tour will attach to that account.

Before you start

  • Install the Shaka Guide: GPS Driving Tours app (App Store or Google Play).
  • Make sure you are signed into the app with the account you want your tours tied to.

Step 1: Find your redeem code

  1. Open your Viator (or partner) voucher, ticket, or confirmation.
  2. Locate the booking reference number (often shown under the barcode).
  3. Copy it exactly as shown.

Step 2: Redeem inside the Shaka Guide app

  1. Open the Shaka Guide app
  2. If you are new, create an account. If you have used Shaka Guide before, sign in to the same account you used previously
  3. Tap Support (bottom right)
  4. Tap Retrieve Purchases
  5. Tap Redeem Purchase
  6. Enter your booking reference number
  7. Tap Redeem Purchase

Step 3: Download your tour(s)

  1. Go to My Stuff
  2. Your tour(s) should now appear
  3. Download your tour(s) on WiFi before you go

Not seeing your tours after redeeming?

💡 Most common issue: You’re logged into a different account.
✅ Fix: Sign out, sign back in the correct way, then check My Stuff.

Quick checks (most common fixes)

  1. Confirm you’re signed into the right account
    • If you accidentally signed in using a different method (Apple vs Google vs Email), you may be in a different account.
    • Sign out, then sign back in using the correct method, then check My Stuff again.
  2. Try the redeem step one more time
    • Go back to Support → Retrieve Purchases → Redeem Purchase and re-enter the booking reference.
  3. Update your app
    • Make sure you’re on the latest version of the Shaka Guide app from the App Store or Google Play.

Last resort (but it works a lot)

  1. Delete and reinstall the app
    • Delete the Shaka Guide app
    • Download it again from the App Store or Google Play
    • Sign in again (same account)
    • Repeat Support → Retrieve Purchases → Redeem Purchase
    • Check My Stuff
