Macadamia Nut Road

The road is called Macadamia Nut road for a reason. Lining both sides of the road are beautiful, green macadamia nut trees. You can get macadamia nuts anywhere on the island of Hawaii, but the area of Hilo is particularly famous for one of the biggest macadamia nut farms in the state.

The first plantation was created in 1921 in Hilo, and ever since then, macadamia nuts have been a major Hawaii industry.
