So many good things about this guide! Saved a bunch of arguments with my wife about where to stop or where to go. It made the drive relaxing instead of nerve wracking. It’s almost like a guided meditation. There was a talk toward the beginning that helps put you in the right mental state for the drive and it is really good at putting you at ease like if a parking lot is full and what’s the best course of action. (Often it’s: “we have to skip this but there’s so much more ahead”) It discusses the culture of the local people and how to interact, there is nice Hawaiian music that also plays. The app knows what time it is and lets you know what you still have time to do and it lets you know in the most soothing way. The history lesson on the drive back had us thoroughly engaged as well! First time writing a review on an app ever- I felt like I needed to!

I haven’t tried all the other tours but I have to say I truly enjoyed the Road to Hana Tour. It does take all day and requires a lot of driving but the narrator gives good advice and great stops along the way. I truly felt like I saw all the main stops in Maui. I definitely plan to use this app for other tours around the US.

So glad I downloaded and used. The audio tour is a must have for the guided tour on the road to Hāna. Extremely useful guide source keeping one informed as to what’s coming up, which allows the driver to focus on the >600 curves being navigated. The stories on the drive back were informational and made the time fly. Well worth the cost.

This app is amazing. We used it for both the north shore and Oahu east shore line. Easy to follow directions, interesting stories/facts and so many great places!

In 2021 I purchased my first Shaka Guides for a multiple Hawaiian Island vacation. In the four year since I have purchased all the guides they have come out with, using 14 of them so far. I have tried a few others and like theirs the best.

This tour was wonderful and the experience wouldn’t have been the same without this app. Especially for road to Hana , where there isn’t cell service and lots to see , this app was amazing and we really enjoyed the trip

This was recommended to me by a patient before I went to Yellowstone and it was absolutely amazing! It was like my own personal tour guide that went where I wanted to go and let me explore where and for as long as I wanted, then I hoped back into the car and off I went again. I am now using it for Badlands Nation Park and Black Hills Forest and Mount Rushmore and it is once again amazing. It uses GPS to know where you’re located and then tells you about the area you’re in, with optional extended information. It’s respectful of the Native American history with out being preachy or taking sides. The geology of the sites is also discussed with why the land or animals etc have formed or developed the way they have. Minutes after my daughter wondered why amid all the craggy rocks of the badlands there would be this large smooth grassy area the guide discusses it. So far the prices were extremely reasonable and the narrators haven’t had an annoying voice. We will absolutely use this on any vacation we take that they have an option for especially our year National Park trips.

We downloaded this specifically for the Road to Hana but were pleasantly surprised to use it for both sunrise at Haleakalā and exploring West Maui! This app let us get a more in depth experience while touring the island that you just can’t get from reading a guidebook. Highly recommend!!
