Great self guided tour. I almost paid for a private tour. Glad I didn’t. Those great locations get crowded when the tour groups show up. I was ahead of the tour groups and had amazing photos because of it. You’re not at the mercy of anyone. Rental car for the week and this app is still cheaper. The information and music provided by this app is amazing. 5/5. Just bring a charger and battery pack.

Used the Shaka app for the Classic Road to Hana. This was so informative but also in an enjoyably entertaining way! Would have missed so much without it. Highly recommend!!

We used this on our trip to Hawaii on the Big Island. It is very accurate and shared great stories and history about different points. We learned way more about the history than we would have just driving around. I highly recommend this app!!

Definitely helped us through the road to Hana in Maui. Although I missed a stop or two that I wanted it was all beautiful!

This app was such a pleasant surprise. We decided last minute to try the road to Hana and figured we could turn around if it wasn’t our cup of tea. We were hoping just to identify a few good stops along the road to Hana, but we spent almost 10 hours totally hooked on the full tour experience! The narrator had us cracking up laughing the whole time, shared interesting Hawaiian history, and also provided such good insight into what each stop entailed, allowing us to decide where we wanted to prioritize. We saw the most beautiful views all along the road and to our own surprise, followed the tour all the way to the seven sacred pools before turning around at 5pm. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to drive the road themselves - gives you all the knowledge you need with the independence to pick and choose what you want to experience most. To me this far surpassed any van tour we could’ve paid hundreds for. We did this on a whim, started at 10:30am and had an incredible, fulfilling and fun day thanks to the classic road to Hana tour!
