My family of 5 used this app to travel on the Road to Hana and we loved it. We were able to skip certain attractions and spend more time at others and the app was able to pick up right where we left off. We couldn’t have done it without its guidance! It was also extremely accurate with its guidance.
We would have missed SO much on the road to Hana without the Shaka Guide! Not only did it help us find all of the amazing places that we got to visit but we got to learn the history of Maui and hear some pretty awesome Hawaiian music! Awesome app!
First time driving the road to Hana and we chose to do the full loop around Haleakala. The Shaka audio tour guide was 10/10 and provided so many interesting Hawaiin historic facts along the way.

This was our first time on Kauai, and the Shaka Kauai Audio Tour Guide was a great supplement to our trip of 10 days. We bought the package of all 4 guides for Kauai and used it both when just driving around and also for 2 half-day trips (to Waimea Canyon & to the Kailua area). We learned so much about the island’s history and culture but also got great tips on restaurants. Would definitely recommend! Only critiques are that the app tends to close when using other apps on the phone & that it would be nice to have more songs on the soundtrack. Mahalo for making a great app!
These apps are wonderful. I have used them in Hawaii and just used the Red Rock Canyon guide. I love all the stories and the hiking suggestions. Make the driving tours enjoyable and fun
We really didn’t fully know what we were getting into regardless of the fact that we thought we were doing our due diligence as far as research and preparation was concerned when we decided to drive the backroad to Hana. This app not only kept us on course…it became a calming and welcoming presence in times of doubt. I highly recommend using this guide.

The drive to Hana is infamously curvy and dangerous, worth the beauty of the journey in exchange for your cortisol. This app not only provided a calming, purely Hawaiian vibe through every curve but also educated us on the history of this precious land. The trip to Hana is fun (and difficult) without this app, but with it, you pay for a return trip to your own personal spiritual awakening. It’s a must-have to find your aloha on the island!
