High above, carved into the rock, is a subtle but fascinating formation-Pothole Arch. Unlike the towering arches that stand like gateways in the desert, this one formed from water collecting in natural depressions, slowly wearing through the sandstone until a hole emerged. It doesn't demand attention like some of the park's more dramatic landmarks; instead, it blends into the landscape, almost hiding in plain sight. To see it, you have to look up-a quiet reminder that some of nature's best work isn't always right in front of you.Frank Kovalchek from Anchorage, Alaska, USA, CC BY 2.0, via Wikimedia Commons
