Over 100 years ago when horse racing was popular in Hawaii, Kapiolani Park was developed as a racing track. Today, there aren’t any more races, but there’s still plenty of excitement. On the weekends the park hosts farmer’s markets and occasionally concerts and other events.
The park sits just along the South end of Waikiki Beach, and there are multiple surf breaks visible from the park! There are plenty of sandy inlets as well, so don’t be afraid to jump in the warm, blue water.
Also encompassed by the park are the Waikiki Aquarium and Zoo. They aren’t very big, but they are a ton of fun for families.
If you want to learn more of the history, have a picnic, or just a fun day at the park, check out Kapiolani park for yourself!
