Diamond Head Lookout and Beach
Diamond Head, or Le’ahi in Hawaiian, is the most recognizable and iconic landmark of Waikiki. It was created as part of a massive volcanic eruption early in the Island’s history.
Today, it’s simply a beautiful landmark, open for exploration. On the coastal side of the crater is Diamond Head Beach Park. It’s a popular surf spot for locals and travel destination for visitors. You can park at the lookout above the beach for an incredible view of Oahu’s Southern coast.
You can easily walk down the paved path carved into the cliffside to access the white sand beach. There are even showers at the top to rinse off the sand and salty sea water when you’re done swimming or surfing!
It’s a great spot to have a beach picnic and watch the sunset, so grab some friends or your significant other!
